Each year I open a number of spots to allow for custom commissions, aside from dog portraits. Past subjects have included extra large animal portraits, golf and other sports, seascapes and landscapes. I have not ventured much into portraits of the human kind so I don't accept those requests right now.
Although it does depend on the complexity of the project, the rate is approximately $2.75 per square inch. If the subject is relatively simple or the size is quite large, that rate will decrease.
Please start by emailing me your ideas as well as any reference photos you have. We can discuss layout, composition, etc. At that time, I can give you a quote as well as a timeline for completion.
I work in graphite and charcoal. The substrates I use are either Strathmore 500 Bristol Vellum ( a medium weight paper similar to cardstock) or Arches Rives BFK ( a textured French printmaking paper). Both are of the highest quality and 100% cotton.
